Out-of-favour Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has quashed reports of his participation in a reality show after rumours spread around about Chahal’s supposed entry into the reality television show ‘The 50.’
Chahal’s personal life has been going through a storm and has been full of turmoil. He also divorced last year from his wife, Dhanashree Verma, an Indian internet celebrity and dancer, whom he had married back in 2020.
As per the speculations, various reports claimed that Chahal would reunite with his ex-wife on the show. The 50 is India’s upcoming large-scale reality show, promising a bold new format that is set to disrupt the Indian reality TV playbook.
Yuzvendra Chahal quashes rumours of reality show participation
Speculations claimed that the Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will now leave cricket and participate in the upcoming large-scale reality show in India, ‘The 50.’ It is set to premiere on the 1st of February.
Putting all such statements to rest, Chahal claimed that the reports currently circulating about his participation in the TV reality show are nothing but incorrect. He is not associated with the show, and ‘there are no discussions or commitments of this nature.’
“There is no truth to the reports currently circulating about Yuzvendra Chahal’s participation in any reality show. These claims are speculative and incorrect. Yuzvendra is not associated with the show mentioned in recent reports, and there are no discussions or commitments of this nature. We request media platforms and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified information,” Chahal said in a statement.
Chahal was last seen in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2026
Throughout his international career, he was one of the highest wicket-takers for India in T20Is and was recently surpassed by bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya.
In his career spanning over 300+ matches, he has amassed 384 wickets and was last seen playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy back in 2025. He played his last List A game back in August for Northamptonshire and then played the three SMAT games against Puducherry, Punjab, and Gujarat and picked up 4 wickets.
The last time Chahal played an ODI match for India was back in 2023 against New Zealand in Indore, and then a T20I match for India back in 2023 against the West Indies.
Yuzvendra Chahal will be seen in action next in IPL 2026
Out-of-favour Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will be seen in action in the Indian Premier League 2026. He was retained by Punjab Kings after being bought in the 2025 mega-auction, where he was included for a mammoth bid of 18 crores.
Back in 2024, he played for the Rajasthan Royals and became the first bowler in the history of the game to have claimed 200 wickets in the IPL. He was also part of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup squad but missed out on a chance to feature in the XI. Yet he won the World Cup with the Indian team.
In the IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal has played for four franchises in the history of the tournament. Having had his finest years in the RCB camp, Chahal has also had three splendid seasons in the IPL with the Rajasthan Royals. In his career, he picked up 221 wickets in 174 games.
