Mumbai’s thrilling win overshadowed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi scare

Well, Mumbai found themselves in trouble early after being asked to bat first against Uttarakhand. Mumbai lost two wickets quickly and was reduced to just 22/2 inside the powerplay. With the top order struggling, the responsibility fell on Musheer Khan and his brother Sarfaraz to steady the innings.

The duo showed great composure and stitched together a very important 107-run partnership for the third wicket, pulling Mumbai out of danger and giving the innings much-needed stability. However, Uttarakhand kept fighting back. Mumbai soon slipped again, losing wickets at regular intervals and finding themselves at 133/4.

Siddhesh Lad and wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore came together and added a solid 53 runs for the fifth wicket to bring the side back into the game. After Lad was dismissed by Devendra Singh Bora, Tamore continued to anchor the innings. He then shared a useful 44-run stand with captain Shardul Thakur, pushing Mumbai closer to a strong total.

Tamore’s unbeaten 93 and half-centuries from Musheer and Sarfaraz helped Mumbai post an imposing total of 331/7. For Uttarakhand, Devendra Singh Bora was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with figures of 3/74 in his 10 overs.

In reply, Uttarakhand’s chase got off to a poor start. However, Yuvraj Chaudhary (96) and Jagadeesha Suchith (51) tried hard but could not prevent Mumbai from winning the match by 51 runs. It was Mumbai’s second straight victory in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
