Virat Kohli trolls Shreyas Iyer: Legendary cricketer Virat Kohli poked fun at Shreyas Iyer by imitating him when the Indian players walked out for the national anthem ahead of the start of the game in Vadodara.

Indian legend Kohli, alongside former captain Rohit Sharma, has decided to feature only in the One-day format for India. While featuring for India, both these players have brought out the funnier side of themselves and have kept the crowd engaged.

However, ever since these two have declared their decision to feature only in ODIs, they have been in unstoppable form. Kohli has three half-centuries and two centuries in the last 7 games, while Rohit Sharma has also scored three half-centuries and a century in 7 games.

Virat Kohli imitates Shreyas Iyer’s walk

As the Indian players took the field at the Vadodara Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara, Captain Shubman Gill, who was making his ODI captaincy debut on home soil, led the team and was followed by Shreyas Iyer, the vice-captain, and Kohli, the batting great.

As they walked out for the national anthem, Kohli followed Shreyas Iyer in the queue. Pointing at Shreyas, Kohli started to imitate Shreyas’s walking style in front of Rohit Sharma, who followed them in line.

Virat lifted his shoulders, pulled out his chest, and walked in a fashion with shoulders tapping back, much like the Indian vice-captain. This was caught on camera ahead of the game.

Virat Kohli rediscovered his cheerful side during the first ODI against NZ

Kohli is known to be one of the most crowd-engaging players in the Indian team. Not only in India, but also in other countries, when the Indian players have toured for bilaterals as well as ICC tournaments, Kohli has kept the crowd on its feet.

When Kohli returned with the ODIs in Australia, he claimed that he felt much fresher and relieved after having spent some time with his family and having left the two other formats. Kohli, since then, has been back at his cheerful best.

During the same match, he was later seen dancing like a snake charmer when Shreyas Iyer took a low catch to dismiss Glenn Phillips midway through the game. Kohli has reached his twilight years and is simply enjoying every moment in the game.

During the first ODI, Kohli missed out on his 85th century in international cricket. However, with a stupendous 93-run innings, he had set the tone for a dominating win for India. Virat Kohli’s innings came alongside his partners Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill.

After Rohit’s dismissal, Kohli was flawless during the 118-run stand for the second wicket and then continued to take command of the Indian innings after his dismissal. He then further amassed another 77-run partnership with the vice-captain, Shreyas Iyer, to take India closer to the target.
