A Bollywood actress, Khushi Mukherjee, recently made a massive claim on Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav ahead of India’s campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Suryakumar Yadav, despite his poor form, has been picked as captain in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Indian captain Suryakumar is not on national duty at the moment, and as per the diktat of the BCCI, he will be back to feature for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He will feature in the domestic matches and will then advance to join the Indian contingent for the New Zealand T20s.
The New Zealand T20Is will begin on the 21st of January and will be the last five games for India ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. The final T20I is scheduled for the 31st of the month, a week before the ICC T20 World Cup begins on the 7th of February.
Bollywood actress tarnishes Suryakumar Yadav’s reputation with vile remarks
Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee recently made a massive claim, where she tarnished the image of Indian captain Suryakumar ahead of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. She claimed that Suryakumar was among the many who used to send her a lot of messages in the past.
The actress also claimed that she does not want to be linked with any cricketer and has never shown interest in any such advances.
“I don’t want to date any cricketer. There are so many cricketers after me. Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot. Now we don’t talk a lot, and I don’t even want to get associated. I don’t like any linkups with me,” she said. (via Kiddan.com)

Suryakumar’s statements will be awaited
Notably, the story has been heard only from one end. Suryakumar Yadav is yet to comment on her statement, and nothing can be confirmed on the same without hearing both parties on both sides of the story.
Suryakumar, the 35-year-old Indian cricketer, is not only a public figure but also a family man. Such a vile remark is a black spot on the reputation of the cricketer. The incident might even be escalated if Suryakumar Yadav takes legal action against the actress and asks for proof of her accusations.
Suryakumar to hunt for rhythm ahead of T20 World Cup
Suryakumar Yadav performed convincingly well as the captain of the Indian side; however, he has had an underwhelming season with the bat. Averaging less than 15 in his last 19 T20I innings, as he could amass only 218 runs without a single fifty in 2025.
Suryakumar struggled in their 5-match innings against South Africa at home. He had scores of 12, 5, 12, and 5 in the four matches. He will be looking to regain his form in the T20I series against New Zealand ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Suryakumar is all set to feature for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy matches on January 6 and 8th, as per reports by the Times of India.
