PSL seals ₹2,600 crore broadcast deal, yet remains dwarfed by IPL empire

PSL Final to be shifted outside Pakistan as Mohsin Naqvi makes shocking move

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is reportedly set to sign the biggest commercial deal in the history of Pakistan cricket. According to reports, the league’s media rights for the four-year cycle from 2026 to 2029 have been sold for PKR 2,600 crore, the most valuable broadcast agreement the PSL has ever secured.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently started the bidding process for a combined package of television and digital streaming rights for the Pakistan market. The deal has gained more value as the number of matches per season is set to increase from 34 to 44 following the addition of two new franchises.

PSL Set to Seal Biggest Commercial Deal in Pakistan Cricket History

According to journalist Saleem Khaliq, Walee Technologies has acquired the tournament’s media rights for all four years. He said the league’s media rights for the four years have been sold for PKR 2,600.

Breaking news. The biggest commercial deal in the history of Pakistan cricket. The four-year media rights of the PSL have been sold for 26 billion rupees to Walee Technologies,” Khaliq wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Despite record-setting revenue in the Pakistan market, the Pakistan Super League operates on a much smaller financial scale than similar cricket leagues across the border.

The PCB has been forced to adjust the tournament’s schedule for a second straight year. Notably, the league usually runs in February-March, but that window is now occupied by the ICC T20 World Cup, pushing the tournament into the March-May period.

Walee Technologies Secure Multan Franchise With Record Bid

Walee Technologies secured ownership of the Multan franchise after submitting a record-winning bid of PKR 245 crore. A total of five technically qualified bidders took part in the auction: Walee Technologies, Aim Next, Particle Igniter, CD Ventures, and DSM.

The franchise entered the auction with a base price of PKR 182 crore, and the bidding was completed in a single round before Walee Technologies emerged on top. Following the purchase, Multan Sultans have been relocated and rebranded as Rawalpindi. The franchise was bought for INR 245 crore, making it one of the biggest deals in league history.

Rawalpindi will now feature as a new entrant in the Pakistan Super League for the 2026 season. The tournament is scheduled to begin on March 26.

PCB Award PSL 2026 Global Media Rights to Walee Technologies

The Pakistan Cricket Board awarded the global broadcast and digital media rights for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League to Walee Technologies. The one-year deal, signed for PSL 2026, is valued at 88 crore.

The agreement gives Walee Technologies control of all international media rights for the season, excluding the Indian market. The deal represents a 149% increase compared to the previous rights cycle.

The PCB has decided not to sell broadcasting rights in India for PSL 11. The decision was taken due to ongoing tensions with the ICC and earlier instances where Indian broadcasters suspended coverage during the tournament.
