Pakistan’s Mohammad Sayyam furiously attacks India batter with ruthless throw in IND U19 vs PAK U19 clash

Pakistans Mohammad Sayyam Furiously Attacks India Batter With Ruthless Throw In IND U19 Vs PAK U19 Clash

The India-Pakistan rivalry is never short of high-octane drama, and the ongoing Super Six clash at the ICC U19 World Cup 2026 in Bulawayo has added another moment to it. Pakistan bowler Mohammad Sayyam lost his cool, unleashing a furious throw at Indian batter Vihaan Malhotra after conceding a six.

India suffered a major setback early in their innings after losing the toss in Bulawayo on Sunday, February 1. In the eighth over, Mohammad Sayyam struck twice to put pressure on the batting side. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for 30, and just two balls later, Ayush Mhatre edged one behind for a duck.

Both wickets fell in the same over, leaving India in trouble at 47 for two. The situation worsened in the very next over as India lost another wicket, slipping further to 47 for three.

Mohammad Sayyam Loses Cool, Fires Aggressive Throw at Vedant Trivedi

On the third ball of the 12th over during India’s innings, Vedant Trivedi made the most of a free hit by pulling a short delivery from Mohammad Sayyam over deep midwicket for six.

However, Sayyam responded with a good-length delivery aimed at the stumps on the very next ball. Trivedi stayed calm, defended it straight back, and remained safely inside his crease with no run attempted.

Sayyam showed visible frustration. After gathering the ball in his follow-through, he threw it at the batting-end stumps in anger. The throw hit the stumps but had no effect, as Trivedi was never in danger of being run out, making the act an unnecessary show of aggression.

India-Pakistan U19 Captains Skip Handshake Again at World Cup

The India-Pakistan U19 World Cup clash again drew attention at the toss, as the two captains avoided the customary handshake. India skipper Ayush Mhatre and Pakistan captain Farhan Yousaf completed the toss formalities without exchanging greetings.

The trend began during the 2025 Asia Cup, when India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav declined a handshake with his Pakistan counterpart amid rising political tensions. It continued in the Women’s World Cup 2025, the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, and the U19 Asia Cup.

In the ongoing match, Pakistan Under-19 won the toss and chose to bowl first in a crucial Super Six Group 2 fixture. As the final group-stage game, the contest carries high stakes, with both India and Pakistan needing a win to secure a place in the semi-finals.

One Semi-Final Spot Up for Grabs as India and Pakistan Face Off

The semi-final picture is close to taking shape, with Australia and Afghanistan already qualifying from Super Six Group 1. England have secured their place from Group 2, leaving just one semi-final spot still open.

That final berth will be decided between India and Pakistan. India are currently placed second in the group with three wins from three matches and a net run rate of +3.337. Pakistan are in third place with two wins from three games and a net run rate of +1.484.

If Pakistan beat India, both teams will finish on six points. However, Pakistan would still need a big-margin victory to overcome India’s superior net run rate. For the Ayush Mhatre-led India, a win alone will confirm qualification. India also remain unbeaten in the tournament so far.
