England outplayed India on the dramatic Day 5 to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing five-match Test series.

India lost the Lord’s Test from the winning position, and fans blamed the unnecessary aggression and drama for the crushing defeat, which put them in a position where they have to win the remaining two Tests to clinch their first-ever Test series in England since 2007.

Chasing 193 runs to win the third Test, the Indian team had a really forgettable start on Day 4 evening. By the end of Day 4, they were struggling at 58 for 4. KL Rahul stood firm with an unbeaten 33, but the team lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (0), Karun Nair (14), Shubman Gill (6), and Akash Deep (1) early.

England’s Brydon Carse made things worse for India by taking two crucial wickets in that late session. Earlier on Day 4, India bowled out England for 192 in their second innings. Washington Sundar was the star with four wickets, while Joe Root top-scored for England with 40 runs.

Jofra Archer shines bright on Test comeback at Lord’s

Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah also took two wickets each. Before that, India matched England’s first innings total of 387 runs on the back of KL Rahul’s century and 70+ contributions from Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant. For England, Chris Woakes scalped three wickets at Lord’s.

Well, it was a memorable comeback for Jofra Archer as he troubled the Indian players with his fierce bouncers and scalped key wickets to help England beat India by runs in the third Test. Apart from Jofra, Ben Stokes and Carse also made a significant impact with the ball, taking a wicket each in the final innings.
