A bizarre incident made the headlines in the Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat game when Moises Henriques withdrew his appeal against Matt Kuhnemann for a timed-out dismissal.
This year’s Big Bash League has witnessed several special moments in the game. The Australian T20 League has witnessed a bizarre incident that has baffled spectators and even cricket greats.
The match between the Sydney Sixers and the Brisbane Heat featured two teams that have not had the best of a season in this BBL. Sydney Sixers skipper showed an amazing sportsmanship spirit that elevated the morale of the players.
Matt Kuhnemann in trouble as Hugh Weibgen was handed the wrong gloves
When 7 wickets had already fallen for the Brisbane Heat side, Matt Kuhnemann, the spinner, came out to the middle alongside Hugh Weibgen. But a delay followed when Weibgen was handed the wrong gloves by his team.
This led to a major fiasco where one recalled a former incident by Indian no. 11 Ishant Sharma, who applied a similar tactic in order to delay the proceedings of the match.
The timed out is a condition when a player takes more than the designated time to reach the crease after a wicket has fallen. If the time is exceeded, he is ruled out by the field umpires.
“I’ve seen it once in a Test match when Ishant Sharma was trying to waste time.”

Moises Henriques shows commendable sportsman spirit in the BBL game
After the incident that happened during the BBL, Moises Henriques, who first appealed for the dismissal got benevolent as he withdrew his appeal and gave Kuhnemann a lifeline.
Brisbane Heat, who were already struggling with 7 wickets fallen with less than a hundred runs on the board, could have sunk further if Kuhnemann had lost his wicket in such a fashion.
However, Kuhnemann was dismissed the very next ball as he was dismissed for a golden duck by spinner Joel Davies.

Aaron Finch explodes as Henriques gives Heat a lifeline
Australian former skipper Aaron Finch was infuriated with the decision by his former teammate Moises Henriques when he saved Kuhnemann from the early dismissal.
Finch, who was at the commentary box during that time, looked shocked by the withdrawal and felt that such decisions are to be made by the on-field umpires and not by any other player or even the captain of the team.
“It shouldn’t be on the captain to have to step in and withdraw the appeal … It’s the umpires out there who control the game.”
