Former India captain and World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth makes a cheeky remark on Pakistan. He suggested the Pakistan cricket team skip the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup 2026, as Team India is in stunning form. The former cricketer predicted that, with the current form the Men in Blue are in, they can trash any other team across the planet.
The 1-2 defeat in the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand had initiated some doubts over Team India. But Suryakumar Yadav and his boys have proved that T20I is a different format, and they are rightly prepared for this.
Team India picked up 3rd straight win in Guwahati with ease
Yesterday, in Guwahati, Team India gained another encouraging win over the Blackcaps to take a 3-0 lead in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. The hosts wrapped up the match, chasing a 154-run target in just 10 overs. With 60 balls to spare and seven wickets in hand, India sealed the match.
Like on multiple previous occasions, Abhishek Sharma walked out in the middle, blazing all his guns to register a 14-ball half-century. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also accompanied him well. Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, the batting and the bowling line-up of Team India are looking like a well-oiled machine.
Pakistan uncertain for the T20 World Cup 2026
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to start on February 7, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Before the beginning of the flagship tournament, there were a lot of controversial moments.
The Bangladesh cricket team, originally scheduled to play in Kolkata for the group matches, found themselves out of the competition as the International Cricket Council did not approve the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s request to shift their matches from India to Sri Lanka, citing ‘security and safety concerns’ for their cricketers.
As BCB remained firm on their stance, ICC threw them out of the tournament and allowed Scotland to enter the T20 World Cup 2026. After the exclusion of the Bangladesh cricket team, tension is now around the Pakistan cricket team. Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan was unsure about taking part in the T20 World Cup, adding that they were awaiting a nod from the government.
Former India skipper’s suggestion for the Pakistan cricket team
In this scenario, the former Indian cricketer jokingly asked Pakistan not to take part in the T20 World Cup 2026 because Team India is in ruthless form. India and Pakistan are in the same group along with the USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands. India will face Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo.
“Hey Pakistan, don’t come. Your man Mohsin Naqvi has been talking about it—don’t come. You will be thrashed. A six hit in Colombo will land in Madras. Beware. The best option is to stay away. Find an excuse and don’t come. These boys will thrash them hard”, Kris Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.
“This will send an alarming signal to every cricket team in the world. This kind of hitting in T20 cricket—I have never seen anything like it.”
