Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan

Indian fast bowlers Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan are currently out of action after undergoing surgeries last month. Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan represent the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL and are expected to be out for around six months.

Mayank Yadav, who has been dealing with frequent back problems, had surgery in New Zealand under the guidance of Dr. Rowan Schouten. The 23-year-old speedster had made headlines last year with his pace but managed to play only two matches in IPL 2025 before getting injured again.

The pacer Mayank Yadav has played just three T20Is for India so far, all against Bangladesh last year. A source close to the development was quoted as saying by the Times of India, “He’s out for six to eight months.”

Meanwhile, Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan both had knee surgeries performed by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is a top orthopedic surgeon based in Mumbai. Dr. Pardiwala also treated big names of the Indian cricket team, like Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant, in the past.

The Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh had surgery on his right knee on June 17. He had missed the final Ranji Trophy league game for his state and also sat out the early part of IPL 2025. Despite the setback, he managed to play 13 matches and picked up 13 wickets for LSG in the IPL 2025.

Mohsin Khan to miss half of the upcoming domestic season

Avesh’s last international game for India was in December 2024 against South Africa. The fast bowler has so far taken 36 wickets in 33 white-ball matches for the Men in Blue.

On the other hand, Mohsin Khan injured his ACL on December 31 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the pacer has joined the Lucknow Super Giants camp, but he couldn’t recover in time and was replaced by Shardul Thakur in the IPL 2025.

Mohsin recently had an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery and will need a long rehabilitation period. All three players will now continue their recovery and rehab at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. They are likely to miss the first half of the upcoming domestic season but could return in time for the latter part of the Ranji Trophy next year.

Rajat Patidar ruled out of the Duleep Trophy due to twin injuries

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh batter and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar will not be part of the upcoming Duleep Trophy. According to the Times of India, Patidar has been advised to take rest by the BCCI’s medical team as he recovers from injuries to his hand and heel.

Patidar had injured his hand during RCB’s successful IPL 2025 campaign, where the team lifted their first-ever title in 18 years. The injury ruled him out of the selection race for India’s Test tour of England. He is also nursing a heel issue, and these injuries have forced the BCCI doctors to recommend a break from competitive cricket for a few more months.

A source was quoted as saying by TOI: “Rajat is training at MP’s off-season camp, but he’s not been batting, as he has been advised to take a break and recover from the injury in his right hand by the BCCI’s medical team. He will miss the Duleep Trophy but should be fine for the Ranji Trophy.”
