Pakistan will have a very busy year in 2026, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27, and the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Men in Green are scheduled to play several bilateral series, with extensive travel and a tight schedule that leaves little room for rest next year.
Pakistan’s cricket schedule for 2026 is mostly based on the Future Tours Programme (FTP). In recent years, the Men in Green have played many of their home series in the UAE. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed most of the team’s matches for 2026, while a few series are still waiting for final approval.
Pakistan Set to Begin 2026 Season With T20I Tour of Sri Lanka
Pakistan will begin their 2026 season with an overseas assignment. The Men in Green are set to play a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in early January. All three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, giving Pakistan an early chance to settle into the year.
After the Sri Lanka series, Pakistan will host Australia for a three-match T20I series. The tour will take place from January 30 to February 5 and will be their final outing before the T20 World Cup 2026. Playing in subcontinent conditions will help the team test their combinations under pressure.
They will then shift focus to the T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. The back-to-back T20I series against Sri Lanka and Australia are expected to play an important role in helping Pakistan build rhythm and confidence before the World Cup begins.
PSL 11 Scheduled for April-May 2026, Set to Clash With IPL 2026
After the World Cup, Pakistan could host Australia for a three-match ODI series. The tour is expected to include three matches and is likely to be held in mid-March 2026, although the final dates are yet to be confirmed.
The schedule will be locked in once Cricket Australia completes its travel plans and the Pakistan Cricket Board gives official approval. If confirmed, the series will be added to Pakistan’s busy international calendar after the World Cup.
Following the international action, focus will shift to domestic cricket with the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. PSL 11 is scheduled to be played between April and May 2026.
The tournament is expected to feature leading Pakistani players along with several overseas stars, making it one of the major highlights of Pakistan’s cricket season in 2026.
Pakistan Set for Tough England Test Tour in 2026 as Part of WTC Cycle
Pakistan will have a tough Test assignment in 2026 when they tour England for a three-match Test series. The series will be played in August and September and is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The tour will be one of Pakistan’s biggest challenges of the year. All three Tests will be played at historic venues — Headingley, Lord’s and Edgbaston. English conditions are known to help fast bowlers, which will test Pakistan’s batters and their ability to adapt away from home.
This England tour will also be important for Pakistan’s position in the World Test Championship standings. Apart from the England series, Pakistan also have other Test series in the same WTC cycle. They are scheduled to play two home Tests against Sri Lanka and two away Tests against the West Indies.
