Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has once again created buzz, and this time his message is clearly aimed at India before their big clash in the T20 World Cup 2026. Abrar Ahmed helped Pakistan beat Australia by 22 runs in the first T20I match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on January 29.

The star spinner returned with the stunning figures of 2/10 in four overs, but it was his celebration that grabbed everyone’s attention in Lahore on Thursday. After Pakistan’s thrilling win over Australia, a reporter asked him if he would continue his special celebrations in the T20 World Cup 2026. Abrar has sent an indirect and open warning to the Indian cricket team.

He mentioned that there are some teams against whom he will definitely continue his trademark celebrations. Abrar Ahmed told a reporter at the post-match press conference in Lahore, “See, I’ll keep doing whatever I feel like. There are a few teams I’ll definitely keep doing it against.”

Abrar’s indirect message has instantly been seen as a warning to India, with the two rivals set to face each other on February 15 in Colombo in one of the biggest matches of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Abrar Ahmed’s controversial celebration against India

The Pakistani spinner is already known for his aggressive celebrations, especially when playing against India. His most famous and controversial move is the head-shake, or get-out, celebration. This celebration has landed him in trouble many times in the past.

During the Champions Trophy 2025, Abrar dismissed Shubman Gill with a smart carrom ball. After taking the wicket, he looked at Gill and made a strong head-tilt gesture, signalling him to “get out.” This gesture didn’t sit well with many, and they called the celebration disrespectful.

He did the same thing again in the Asia Cup 2025 final after dismissing Sanju Samson. The gesture once again caught attention. After the final, Indian players Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Jitesh Sharma were seen jokingly copying Abrar’s head-tilt celebration.

They playfully did it towards Samson to mock Abrar. Now, with the T20 World Cup 2026 on the radar, Abrar Ahmed has made it clear that he is not planning to change his celebrations, especially against India.

Pakistan vs Australia 1st T20I Highlight

Meanwhile, Pakistan finally broke a seven-year drought and did it in dramatic style, pulling off a thrilling win against Australia in the T20I cricket. Chasing a target of 168 runs, Australia never looked settled as Pakistan bowlers kept striking, not allowing any partnership to settle.

Wickets kept falling regularly, and the chase quickly slipped out of Australia’s control. Travis Head tried to give some early hope but could only manage 23 runs before falling. Cameron Green fought harder and stood tall for a while with 36 runs, but he found no support from the other end.

Several Australian players walked back without even facing 15 balls against Pakistan. The biggest surprise came from pacer Xavier Bartlett, who played a brave knock at the end. He remained unbeaten on 34 runs from 25 balls and tried to pull off the impossible. However, with no support around him, his effort was not enough to save Australia from defeat.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan built their innings after being put under pressure. Young opener Saim Ayub played a confident knock of 40 runs, while captain Salman Ali Agha took charge in the middle overs with a steady 39, guiding Pakistan past the 160-run mark. Adam Zampa picked up four wickets against the hosts.
