Delhi Capitals have retained senior players like Axar Patel, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mitchell Starc, who will be entrusted to fulfill their role with bat and ball, and would want good support from players like Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel.

Key Players For Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026

KL Rahul

Experienced batter KL Rahul will be an integral part of the Delhi Capitals both with the bat and as the senior player who can guide Axar Patel when needed, as he has a rich vein of experience as far as captaincy is concerned.

As was the case with the majority of the DC batters last season, Rahul started the tournament well as a batter, but wasn’t able to build on it in the second half, which led to the team losing the momentum that it had gained in the first seven games.

Axar Patel

Like KL, Axar Patel will also be crucial to DC’s chances of making it to the top four, and the all-rounder would want to lead from the front, being the captain of the team.

Axar would want to contribute to all three departments, and he is more than capable of doing it, taking into consideration that the left-hander has been in the last few years.

Tristan Stubbs

Amidst the disappointing run that DC have had in the last couple of years in the IPL, the one batter that has stood out is Tristan Stubbs, who has scored consistently and will look to do the same in the next season as well.

It would be interesting to see if Stubbs continues to fulfill the role of a finisher as he bats in the top four for South Africa, and might make decisive contributions if he is given that particular position in the IPL as well.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc, who will be coming into the IPL after a proper rest following a five-match Ashes series, would be entrusted to carry the form that he has shown against England so far.

Starc will take the new ball and will look to pick wickets for the Delhi Capitals in the first six overs.
