The moment Virat Kohli smashed the boundary to reach triple figures, the crowd at the JSCA International Stadium Complex exploded in celebration, but one young fan took the excitement to another level.

As the crowd roared, the fan sprinted past security, rushed onto the pitch, and dropped to his knees to touch Kohli’s feet in devotion. The former Indian captain, stunned for a split second, reacted with complete grace.

He gently lifted the young supporter back to his feet and asked the security team to escort him out safely without causing any harm. The heartwarming gesture drew huge cheers from the stands.
Moments later, KL Rahul walked up to Kohli and congratulated him on his brilliant milestone. Kohli quietly looked up, thanked God, and then picked up the bat again as the game resumed.
Before this, in his trademark style, the dashing right-hander jumped in the air with a fist pump. He then kissed his wedding ring to remember his wife, Anushka Sharma, on reaching the milestone.

Ryan Rickelton’s stunning catch ends Virat Kohli’s Ranchi masterclass
Meanwhile, after facing back-to-back wides in the 43rd over, Nandre Burger ended Kohli’s stunning innings with Ryan Rickelton taking a superb catch running back in Ranchi. Kohli tried to step out and hit a slower-ball bouncer from Burger, but it came off the bottom of his bat.

But it ended up in a loft towards long-off. And Rickelton ran back about 10–15 yards from the cover region, kept his eyes on the ball, caught it cleanly over his shoulder, and fell to the ground while completing the catch. It was the end of the Indian batting maestro’s superb innings.
As Kohli walked back after scoring a brilliant 135 off 120 balls laced with eleven boundaries and seven sixes against South Africa, he waved his bat to the Ranchi crowd, who gave him a standing ovation. Some even wondered if this might be Virat’s last international match on this ground.

Kohli had also scored 45 against New Zealand in 2016 before returning with a brilliant 123 against Australia in 2019 at the same venue. And now his latest masterclass of 135 runs against South Africa has taken Kohli’s total ODI tally in Ranchi to a remarkable 519 runs. He now averages an astonishing 173 at this ground with a strike rate of 110.19.
