‘Devastated’ Kuldeep Yadav cries after 134-ball fight ends in Guwahati, drags himself off the field

Kuldeep Yadav Cries After 134 Ball Fight Ends In Guwahati Drags Himself Off The Field

Kuldeep Yadav ended his long 134-ball stay in Guwahati in front of Marco Jansen, who picked up a 5-wicket haul in the game with the 8th Indian wicket.

South Africa crushed India with a lead of over 280 runs and can also impose a follow-on over the Indian team. India were bowled out for just 201 runs in their innings in response to South Africa’s 489.

The Proteas batted for almost two days in Guwahati, and the Indian bowlers themselves admitted that the track was very different from the excessively bowling-friendly conditions at the Eden Gardens. Hence, it was expected that Indian batters would also pile up a huge amount of runs here.

Kuldeep Yadav breaks down emotionally after being dismissed after 134 balls

Kuldeep Yadav served India the best with the bat as he guided them through the second and third sessions alongside Washington Sundar after India was 7 wickets down. Indians kept losing wickets across every session.

They lost four wickets in the morning session at Guwahati, when they struggled against the slow spin of Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer. Later in the post Tea second session, Marco Jansen cleared the Indian middle order.

Kuldeep Yadav’s 134-ball-long stay ended when he edged a ball off Marco Jansen to second slip. The batter stood there disheartened and with eyes filled with tears. Kuldeep went down having scored 19 runs with 3 fours and faced the most deliveries by an Indian batter in the innings.

Marco Jansen’s records after historic show in Guwahati

Marco Jansen, the South African all-rounder, first came in to bat at no. 9 for the Proteas and scored 93 runs with a strike rate of over 100. He helped South Africa take the score past a mammoth 480-run mark.

Jansen smashed seven sixes during his innings and then went on to break several batting records. This was also the second-most sixes by any batter coming in at no. 9 and was the most sixes by a Protea batter in a Test inning in the subcontinent.

Having picked 6 wickets with the ball, Jansen is now the second South African to have picked a five-wicket haul and scored a 50+ score as well on Indian soil in this century. Nicky Boje and Jason Holder are among others on the list.

South Africa leads by 314 runs; India is on the brink of another tragic home series clean sweep

The South Africans were already leading by a huge 288-run mark, as this marked the second-highest lead without enforcing a follow-on in Tests. The Proteas came out to bat and took the score past 300 with a quick 26 in the second innings.

India is on the brink of another home Test series clean sweep, the second in Gautam Gambhir‘s era. With two more days remaining and South Africa still having 10 wickets in their hand with a 314-run lead already, India would have to work extensively hard to either win or draw this game.
