While the bat was lying far away on the ground, the ball had already raced past the infield. Even after losing the bat mid-shot, Farhan quickly completed two runs as the crowd reacted in shock and laughter as the moment went viral across social media.

The Rishabh Pant incident

The Sahibzada Farhan incident reminded fans of similar scenes involving Rishabh Pant, who is famous for his bat flying during attacking shots. In a Test match against England, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter’s bat once flew almost 20 meters towards square leg while facing Josh Tongue.

The incident left the Indian team laughing, with Jasprit Bumrah enjoying the moment the most. Well, this was not the first time Farhan has done this. In the 2025 Asia Cup, the Pakistani opener’s bat had flown high in the air when he was dismissed by the Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube.

Sahibzada Farhan joins elite list with Ahmed Shehzad

Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan stole the show with a brilliant unbeaten 100 from just 58 balls. He reached the three-figure mark with a simple single and lifted his bat to celebrate a special achievement. His masterclass helped Pakistan to post 199 for 3 after their 20 overs against Namibia.

Following his knock, Farhan joined Ahmed Shehzad as the only Pakistani players to score a century in T20 World Cup history. Shehzad had made 111* back in 2014 against Bangladesh. His knock is now the second-highest individual score by a Pakistani player in T20 World Cup history.

The record for the highest individual score still belongs to Shehzad. Umar Akmal is third on the list with 94 runs against Australia in Mirpur in 2014.

Pakistan’s second-highest T20 World Cup total

Pakistan created history in the T20 World Cup 2026, as their total of 199 for 3 against Namibia in Colombo is now their second-highest team total in T20 World Cups.

Their highest remains 201 for 5 against Bangladesh in Kolkata in 2016. Other big totals include 191 for 6 against Australia in Gros Islet in 2010 and 191 for 5 against Australia in Mirpur in 2014.

Additionally, the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 has seen three different players score centuries, which is the highest number of hundreds ever recorded in a single T20 World Cup edition.

Farhan controlled the innings beautifully, mixing clean timing with aggressive strokes. Later, Shadab Khan finished the innings with two huge sixes, pushing the total close to 200. Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus had a poor outing as he conceded 16 runs in the last six balls.
