Babar Azam trolled by Parthiv Patel and Aakash Chopra during the England vs Nepal game: Pakistan edged out a win against the Netherlands in the first match of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Faheem Ashraf took the Men in Green off the line while they were struggling at one point in the game.

Salman Ali Agha’s team was ahead in the game until Sahibzada Farhan’s wicket fell. As the side had a collapse from 98/2 to 114/7, and they found themselves struggling with 29 needed in the last two. In the game, Babar Azam, who has been one of the most experienced batters for Pakistan, also gave away his wicket, scoring 15 off 18 deliveries.

Similarly ongoing the ongoing game between England and Nepal, former wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel and opener Aakash Chopra had a funny conversation, while doing commentary on Star Sports, took a slight dig towards Babar and his slow style of batting. Neither of them mentioned the name; however, it was very obvious for the fans to know who they were talking about.

Parthiv Patel, while in conversation with former opener Aakash Chopra said, “I think Aakash, when someone is batting very fast, we say he is batting like Abhishek Sharma. So we should find a name, when someone is batting slowly, who is he batting like? Which name comes to your mind? You can say. I have a question, so you have to answer, whose strike rate is this batting like?

Aakash Chopra replied, saying, “Don’t push me that way again and again, please. I have been doing commentary since the time of Mughal-e-Azam, by the way.” Previously, Mohammed Kaif’s on-air remark about Pakistan batter Babar Azam went viral.

Babar’s style does not suit T20Is

Kaif said, “You asked him to go for a six, but where could he hit it? The field was set back, he doesn’t have that power, and hitting sixes isn’t his style.”

Babar has a strike rate of 128.15 in the shortest format of the game with an average of 39.30, scoring 4520 runs in 140 matches.
