During the lighthearted interaction with the fans, India’s T20I captain slipped into Rohit’s tone and body language, recreating the Hitman’s strict warning to teammates.
His playful mimicry instantly reminded everyone of Rohit’s famous “garden” remark, and within minutes, the video went viral across social media platforms.
The Rohit Sharma garden warning that became a viral cricket moment
The moment brought back memories of a fiery scene from India’s Test match against England in Visakhapatnam in 2024. At that time, the stump mic caught Rohit visibly annoyed during a tense phase of the game. He was unhappy with youngsters like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel moving around casually between overs when urgency was needed.
India’s former Test and T20I captain’s sharp warning, yelling at the players, “Koi garden mein nahi ghoomega (No one will roam around like they’re in a garden),” quickly became a viral sensation.
Since then, Indian players have repeatedly used Rohit’s garden warning both on and off the field. Suryakumar’s latest mimicry was another instance of the trend.
Suryakumar Yadav’s funny mimicry steals the show
During the captains’ photoshoot in Mumbai ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, a fan asked the captain for a selfie. And the stylish batter turned the moment into a memorable yet funny memory, as he said to that fan, “abhi lega kya (Will you take it now?)” in Rohit’s tone.
Suryakumar didn’t stop there as he said, “Are tu garden me ghumna band kar pahle,” in the Hitman’s voice before bursting into laughter, leaving one and all in splits.

Suryakumar Yadav warns India against complacency ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

The India captain stressed that consistency will be the key, and India must carry the right mindset and play good, fearless cricket throughout the competition to lift the third title. The Men in Blue have been dominating the format, having not lost a single series under Suryakumar, yet the captain wants his team to bring their best game every time they step onto the field.
Suryakumar said during the captains’ press conference at the Wankhede Stadium: “The way we have been playing, it looks like that [India are favorites to win the title], but on any given day, when you play a game, you have to bring your A game. You have to play good cricket. There are 19 other good teams in the competition too, and I’m sure every game will be fun.”
If India goes on to win the T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar will create history. He would become only the third Indian captain to lift the trophy, after MS Dhoni in 2007 and Rohit Sharma in 2024.
