At first, the seriousness of the injury was not clear. Many claimed that it could be a niggle only. Pant was batting in the nets when he started to feel the pain in his leg. The physio quickly rushed to the spot and assisted Rishabh Pant. Pant was visibly in pain when he left the field with the help of the physio.
Pant out of T20 World Cup 2026 as well
Later, the board made it clear that the southpaw was ruled out of the series because the injury he received was serious. After the injury, he even missed a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026 squad. For the wicketkeeping spot, BCCI named Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan.
Pant went to Bengaluru at BCCI’s Center of Excellence for the rehabilitation process. He is still recovering from the injury, but the good thing is that he is recovering well, as per the latest reports.
It is learned that Rishabh Pant, who is suffering from a right-side strain, is progressing well in his rehab, and as of now, he is reportedly experiencing no pain during his activities.
When will he return?
It is also claimed that during the rehab process, he did well in strength and conditioning and running as well. It is expected to see him again with his batting and keeping gear in February. Once he gets back in the field with bat and pad, his movements will be monitored closely before making a comeback in competitive matches.
