Ishan Kishan has made an amazing comeback to the Indian side. He stormed his way back into the T20I side after his recent performances in domestic cricket, where he led his side to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, as he played a captain’s knock for Jharkhand in the final of the tournament, scoring a century in the most important match. After which, he was called back to the Indian side.
Ishan Kishan showcased his form in his international comeback as well. Scoring 215 runs in the 5-match series against New Zealand, and only finishing behind the team’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav. He scored a century in the fifth and final T20 game in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He played a knock of 103 runs and helped India post a mammoth total of 271 runs. Kishan has also been added to the 2026 T20 World Cup squad.

Kishan was found in a happy mood as he was present on the YouTube channel named 2 Sloggers, which is a popular Indian cricket-focused content creation channel founded and managed by actor/comedian Shubham Gaur, where he was found having a fun time and reacting to some of his old videos and funny moments with his teammates.
He found himself laughing all over again as he watched the old viral videos of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, showing that some dressing-room moments never get old.
While speaking on the video with Shubman Gill he said, “Jitni gandi harkate hai Gill start karta hai aur mai bas follow karta hu, Gill bichme baithne wala hai joh padhai mei bhi haath upar karega and badme last bench pe 2 hours keliye chill bhi krega.” (English Translation; All the mischievous stuff starts with Gill, and I just follow along. Gill is that guy who’ll sit in the middle row, raise his hand in class like the studious kid, and then chill on the last bench for two hours afterward.)
An old video resurfaced of Kishan
Shubman and Kishan have always shared a funny bond, as one video of them during the West Indies tour was viral, where he asked Ishan Kishan, “Meri t-shirt hatake paseena chaatega (Will you take off my T-shirt and lick my sweat?)” After hearing this, Ishan Kishan was shocked and replied, “pagal wagal hai kya? (Are you crazy?).”
In the podcast, there was also a famous exchange from India’s 2023 ODI series against Sri Lanka with then captain Rohit Sharma and Gill. In the original video, Ishan Kishan had a funny dig at Rohit over his absence from the playing XI despite scoring a historic double hundred against Bangladesh in December 2022.
As Rohit asked him why he was not playing and sat out for three games even after making 200, Kishan replied, taking a funny jab, “Bhaiya yeh to aap bataoge, captain to aap the naa, (You say brother as you are the captain)” with Rohit and Gill in shock, and all three had a funny moment.
Ishan Kishan to open in the World Cup?
Kishan will be next in action on 7th February 2026, for the opening game of India in the upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup against the USA.
He is reported to be opening the innings with the form he has been carrying.
