The Kingsmen Hyderabad team owner, Fawad Sarwar, claimed in his recent interview that England red-ball players would not be given NOCs by their board for the upcoming season. Moreover, he thinks that PSL could have been the second-best league, but it is not due to improper management.
Pakistan Super League will be played in the upcoming season with the arrival of new teams. The new team, Kingsmen Hyderabad, owned by Fawad Sarwar, has made many quirky statements on the upcoming PSL season and the growth of the PSL.
PSL season will attract several new players this season, after several were ruled out in the IPL season. Alongside the Hyderabad team, Sialkot Stallionz have also been named in the Pakistan Super League season.
England not give NOC to red-ball cricketers
Farwad Sarwar went on to drop a massive statement on the ECB and the England cricketers. England might not be handing the NOC to their red-ball cricketers for the post-ICC T20 World Cup season. Also, England would be busy with a red-ball schedule.
England players do not participate in the entire stretch of the IPL, and several big names like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Adil Rashid are not part of the leagues like the IPL, which shares the same window as the PSL this season.
However, the team owner cited that the ECB will not hand NOCs to their Test cricketer, citing an excessive workload between franchise and international cricket. Fawad Sarwar said, “I don’t think the ECB will give NOCs to England red-ball players. That’s the latest update we have.”
“You’ve created your competitors for no reason,” the new PSL team owner claimed
The Pakistan Super League has often been promoted as one of the most prestigious leagues in the world by the Pakistan players, former stars, the members of the PSL committee in the PCB and more. However, in terms of value or popularity, the PSL is nowhere near leagues like IPL, The Hundred, SA20 or even the ILT20.
The new investor in the Pakistan franchise-level cricket also mentions that if anyone is not able to handle a team properly, then they should give up on it. There is no reason to continue in that manner, which has resulted in so many competitors of the PSL.
Fawad Sarwar said, “PSL should be the second-best league. You’ve created your competitors for no reason. If you can’t run the team properly, then hand it over to someone else.”

“PSL players’ salary cap should be $5–6 million” – Fawad Sarwar
The salary cap of PSL cricketers has always been a matter of discussion and concern. Many feel that great international stars are lured by the IPL due to its insane salary caps and the auction rates. They also believe that PSL does not offer a sufficient amount of money, as several new leagues are now opening as choices for these cricketers.
Amid such talks, the new franchise owner in the PSL has also claimed that even if the draft system continues to exist, the salary cap for cricketers should be enhanced, and it should be increased to a new salary cap of $5–6 million.
