A big controversy has broken out involving singer-composer Palash Muchhal after serious allegations were made against him by actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who claimed to be a childhood friend of Indian women’s cricket team star Smriti Mandhana.

Vidnyan Mane accused Palash Muchhal of betrayal, cheating, and serious financial wrongdoing. The issue has now taken a legal turn, with the singer-composer hitting back with a strong statement. He also bought the Smriti Mandhana-Palash Muchhal episode into the matter.
Mane has alleged that he was cheated of more than Rs 40 lakh in an unreleased film project linked to Muchhal. He further claimed to be emotionally and financially misled by Palash and that the entire situation ruined their personal relationship.

However, Palash, who was set to marry Smriti Mandhana before their wedding was called off last December, has strongly denied all allegations. He stated that the accusations made against him are completely false and without any truth.

Furthermore, Muchhal stressed that the claims were made with the intention of damaging his reputation and that he will fight the matter legally. The singer-composer has confirmed that his lawyer is already looking into the case and all steps will be taken through proper legal channels.
Palash posted on Instagram: “In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are entirely baseless and factually incorrect. They have been made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation, and they will not go unchallenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through the appropriate legal channels.”

Meanwhile, Mane filed an official complaint against Palash in Sangli, Maharashtra, right after making these revelations publicly. Recently, he made sensational claims about the relationship between Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana. He alleged that their relationship broke down after an incident during wedding celebrations in November 2025.
Mane revealed that he was introduced to Palash through the Mandhana family and believed that the latter would eventually settle down in Sangli after marriage. He claimed that he trusted the family and invested money with that belief, but everything changed after the relationship ended.
Mane was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times, “I was at the wedding celebrations (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha; he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me.”
Money dispute, pressure and evidence claims
On the financial side, Mane recalled his meeting with Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, last month. He revealed that she asked him to invest another Rs 10 lakh; otherwise, he would not get his already invested money back since the movie’s budget has now increased to Rs 1.5 crore.
He added, “They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film; thus, I was forced to file a complaint.” Mandhana’s alleged friend further revealed that the Muchhal family blocked him from everywhere after the wedding was called off with the Indian cricketer.
The actor-producer revealed that he has saved chats, call recordings, and other communication, which he is ready to submit to the police and, if required, to the media.
