New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell once again turned into India’s biggest headache in ODI cricket as he produced another magnificent century on Indian soil, stretching his golden run in the ongoing three-match series. After smashing a series-leveling hundred in Rajkot, Daryl Mitchell followed it up with yet another ton in the series decider at Indore on January 18.
Daryl Mitchell strikes again as India’s biggest ODI threat on home soil
Mitchell reached his hundred in calm and classy fashion. Ravindra Jadeja delivered the ball that was tossed slightly outside the off stump, and Mitchell gently played it into the off-side to take the single that brought up the second successive hundred in the ongoing ODI series against India.
The moment he got there, Mitchell could not hide his emotions. He roared in celebration as the New Zealand dressing room rose to applaud yet another masterclass. This knock marked Mitchell’s third century in his last four ODI innings and the ninth hundred of his ODI career.

Records tumble as Mitchell climbs elite lists against India in ODIs
With his fourth hundred on Indian soil, the New Zealand star now sits just behind South African great AB de Villiers. De Villiers remains at the top with five centuries in 11 innings, while Mitchell has reached four hundreds in only seven innings in ODI cricket.
He also becomes the second New Zealander with the most ODI hundreds against India. Well, Mitchell’s dominance against India in ODI cricket continues to grow stronger with every series. The New Zealand batter has delivered a stunning run of scores in his last seven ODI innings against India, registering scores of 130, 134, 17, 63, 84, 131*, and 114*.
Mitchell scripts history as New Zealand eye historic series win
Earlier during the ongoing ODI series decider, Mitchell entered his name in the history books as he became the first batter in the world to register five 50-plus scores in a row in India in the format. He is currently batting on 125 and has already stitched a 150+ partnership with Glenn Phillips as the Black Caps have crossed the 250-run mark in the final ODI against India at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Now, they have a great chance to pull off a memorable series win, and it could go down as one of their most impressive achievements in ODI cricket, as they are playing without many of their biggest and most experienced players, like Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Matt Henry, and Mitchell Santner.
