However, Smith has now made it clear that there was no bad blood at all. In fact, the two had already shared a relaxed conversation. The Australian batting icon had informed Babar in advance that he wanted to keep the strike for the first ball of the Power Surge.

The Australian star went on to praise Babar’s batting, highlighting how well the Pakistan batter played againstthe Sydney Thunder and how smoothly their partnership came together. He also revealed that they even discussed golf after the training session before the Brisbane Heat game.

Steve Smith told the broadcasters on Fox Cricket, “No, he’s good. We were chatting before, so yeah, I thought he batted really nicely the other night. We had a good partnership. Yeah, we were chatting about our golf earlier, so you can see that on the screen. Look, he’s looking forward to tonight. Looks like a nice wicket, so hopefully we can get off to a good start again.”
Adding a fun twist to the story, Smith also revealed that there is a possible golf outing on the cards in the future if Babar ever makes a trip to New York. He signed off by saying, “I haven’t yet, but yeah, if he’s over there anytime.”

Babar Azam skips post-match handshake at SCG
Meanwhile, Babar Azam was not happy after a tense moment with Steve Smith at the SCG. Smith’s decision to take the strike in the Power Surge upset Babar, who felt he was not treated with respect.
