Former Sri Lanka International Shehan Jayasuriya Included in Squad, Indians and Pakistanis to play together
USA selectors have added Shehan Jayasuriya to the squad. The 34-year-old left-hander previously played international cricket for Sri Lanka and recently featured in Sri Lanka’s domestic first-class season for Panadura Sports Club.
Jayasuriya was not part of the 2025 Major League Cricket squads but earned selection after strong recent performances. USA head coach Pubudu Dassanayake backed Jayasuriya’s inclusion, with his experience and familiarity with local conditions playing a key role in the decision.
Leg-spinner Mohammad Mohsin and former Pakistan fast bowler Ehsan Adil have a chance to represent the USA for the first time. Selectors left out Yasir Mohammad and Juanoy Drysdale. They also overlooked Ian Holland, who impressed during the 2025 Major League Cricket season.
